It smells like sparklers! Looks like Elder Bates has gone to town…

Hello from Iowa City! Everyone should go check out because it is exploding with awesomeness right now and who is excited for conference in less than a month?! I AM. Seriously we have the opportunity to listen to apostles and prophets of Jesus Christ…. how incredible is that? Don’t be afriad to invite people to check it out for themselves. Thomas S. Monson isn’t the prophet for the "Mormons"- he is the prophet of the entire world.

Monday: longest, most relaxing preparation day ever!!!
Tuesday: we met a cute girl from China as we walked to downtown to e-mail, gave her a card, she texted us that evening, we invited her to church on Sunday and SHE CAME!! Miracle #1.

Wednesday: appointments fell through, we did lots of service, and Sister Kissner was hilarious. We joke that she needs to have language study for English while I study Portuguese because she’s at language fail #274 now. We also knocked 9 doors and 3 of them opened up!! (that’s amazing odds btw) 1 had friends who were LDS but wasn’t interested, the other 2 just moved here and are looking for a church! We’re keeping in contact with them and we’ll see what happens 🙂

Thursday: met with members of the branch and witnessed the priesthood power as one member received a blessing from the Elders we serve near, and reflected on the blessings that come from having a temple on the earth (or lots of temples 🙂
Friday: met with a recent convert who speaks mainly French! Thankfully we had a member who is from France… listening to them talk was awesome. After we met with them God gave us a HUGE tender mercy and we were able to meet with a less active that we’ve been trying to get a hold of for WEEKS. Oh I was so happy to see her. It’s amazing as missionaries that you can love someone just by looking at their name. On the way home I found out that my blog is going around the members of the branch and that they’re reading it… haha kinda embarrassing but umm… HEY BRANCH. I LOVE Y’ALL 🙂

Saturday: Oh Saturday… it was a home football game for the University of Iowa which meant we got free pancake breakfast at the church building (#score), went in for studies, and laughed our heads off (does that make us mean people?) at the people who were clearly under the influence… Did I mention Iowa is the #1 party school in America? yeah. I love Saturdays haha

Sunday: church was amazing (ok I seriously love our branch members. their testimonies are POWERFUL) and although we had appointments fall through we had a great evening being fed by members (who kindly let me know that BYU won…. SO HAPPY!!!) and listening to the CES devotional. Elder Neslon gave a powerful apostolic blessing at the end that gave me chills.

I know the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored on the Earth. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints is His kingdom on earth today and although it is run by imperfect people, Christ is at the head and He directs His work through His prophets and apostles. I love the blessings that have come because Joseph Smith decided to read the scriptures and pray. Never underestimate the importance of the little things. It is promised time and time again in the scriptures that "by small and simple things are great things brought to pass."

I love y’all! Thanks for the letters this week (especially you Narnia movie night writers)

Com amor,
Sister Wolfgramm
